Entrance area in UBC II

UBC II recepcja 2015-02-05 01In mid-January we started works on the area of the main hall in the University Business Center II building at Szturmowa Street. The scope of changes that we were tasked with includes the design, and new functional arrangement within the reception. The project at UBC II was designed by ALSA Projekt -Arkadiusz Łukaszewski.
The most striking characteristic change will be the wall coverings. White walls, over 4 meters high, are covered with 3 types of finishing materials. On the two largest areas there are designed gray panels painted in two shades, where their precisely sketched divisions will be highlighted by the light from the wall lamps hung on the panels. Veneer and white glass behind the reception desk counter will appear, which will reconfigure and refresh the area .
One of the interesting challenges with which we had to face was making the spatial mass painted in blue with the gloss effect being the main decorative element of the entire area.
The straight surface of the suspended ceiling was converted into a two-level one with hidden strip lighting designed to create a soft, smooth glow on decorative walls. Suitable light intensity in passageways comes from the LEDs hidden above the stretch ceiling made of matt and transparent foil creating the effect of evenly distributed illuminated surface.
The biggest change in the functional arrangement is the installation of gates with access control.
Designing this project is full of challenges, not only in respect of the implementation of individual elements which are unique and individual works but most of all in terms of their arrangement in such a way that the tenant does not feel renovation. The work will be completed at the end of March.
